Sorry I haven't posted for a while, a lot been going on tho.
Firstly, my brother's surgery was a success and he was out within 2 days and doing well. So pleased with that.
Secondly, I decided a month or so ago that I wanted to go back to work Full Time and started looking for a job.
Now when I worked, before having the kids, I was a PA to the Director at Scot FM and it was quite a high profile job, non stop decision making and running about like a headless chicken, working late and weekends etc etc, I loved it and always thrived in that kind of working environment.
I have 3 kids now to consider and these late nights and working weekends just isn't going to work at the moment, they are too young and although I want to go back to work I want to have time with them too.
So I registered with an employment agency. I had kept up to date with all my skills during my time off from working and learned a lot of new skills too which looked good on my CV. I was also surprised when I was given standard tests at the Agency of typing and MS Office and my typing speed was still over 100wpm, mind you I am always typing online on forums and the likes lol.
They, of course, wanted to start finding PA jobs for me, but I was happy to be a Secretary somewhere or even an Administrator, but nah they kept putting me forward for PA positions so I thought ok, forget the agencies start looking myself.
I went onto S1jobs.com which has a search engine you can look at for jobs in and around your area and came across one for Customer Advisor at Sky and went to Sky's recruitment website and applied and waited.
A couple of days later I was telephoned by their recruitment consultant and informed that I would have a 40 minute telephone interview that day at 4pm. I was crapping myself tbh, it had been a long time since I had interviewed for a job. It went well tho and I was told that I had passed the first interview and she gave me an appointment for a 1 to 1 interview the following week which would take 2 hours and be made up of an interviewer firing questions at me and scenarios whereby I had to use my own experiences to reply. I would also take part in 4 mock telephone calls to see how I handled the customers etc.
I was really nervous, I mean, over the years I had put on a lot of weight, I wasnt slim Mary anymore and was quite self concious in that regard and to actually go to an interview I was bricking it. I arrived and the interview took just over 2 hours and I felt I did pretty good, my attitude going in was, do your best, be yourself and if that isnt good enough then so be it.
Couple days later I was telephoned to say congrats you have passed the 2nd interview and we would like to offer you the job. Woo hooo I was delighted, I love working with people and I love working in a team environment so this was the perfect job for me. So I start on 20 April with 3 weeks training first.
On the poker front, I seem to have lost my way a bit. I cannot seem to find something that I want to play on a regular basis. I do enjoy MTTs and STTs but tbh they haven't gripped my attention lately and I haven't played much poker at all, the occasional 5 card draw STT.
I need to decide what would be good for me to play and stick with it for a while. They have this Blonde SAS thing over on the Blonde Forum and did consider doing that but tbh at the moment I need to think first and then stick with a plan.
I also need to use proper bankroll management, I tend to just play what I want, when I want, and there is no structure to my playing, so quite a lot for me to work on.
So at the moment off poker, onto bejeweled on facebook which is doing my head in cause its a frustrating game, but a good one too lol.
Good luck at the table all, will post again soon.
xx
